People know quite a few things about the criteria used by Google to rank their sites, but they are not sure about all of them and to what extent these will impact their sites. Some factors are more important than others, but this does not mean you should ignore the less significant ones entirely. You have to tweak your site from every point of view.
For instance, the content of your pages is one of the first things you must consider since this is the one that matters most. The number of backlinks you have from other sites, the popularity among users and other things like that will influence your ranking. One of the other things you will need to focus on is how fast your site will load for its users.
Page speed is one of the factors that will influence how your site is going to be ranked by Google. This may be used by the search engine from the start, but it can also have a wide range of ripple effects that will lead to disaster. You can take the time to think about the problems it will cause and then you will know why this is an important issue.
Think about your Google ranking
Page speed is one of the first things that will influence the opinion of users of your site. These are the ones you have to please first and then you should think about your Google ranking. You may occupy the top position on the first page in the search engine queries, but this will lead to no result if you are not able to provide a valid user experience.
Another aspect you should consider is that page speed will also influence the way other site owners will see your web presence. If they are not impressed by how fast your site is loading, they will not be willing to link back to it. This will lead to fewer backlinks and it is also going to result in a lower rank in the Google search engine results.
There are quite a few things you can do when you want to improve the loading speed of your site. You will be able to find a number of tools to help you achieve this, but they will strip it of just about everything and the result will not look too appealing. You will have to find a balance so you do not compromise the design of your pages for speed.
There are some sites that have put in a great deal of effort to improve their page speed and they were successful at it. With all the results they got from this point of view, they did not see any real improvement in rankings even after a significant period of time. You are the one that will decide how much effort must be invested in this direction.
