This update was expected. There were no surprises when it was implemented because Google announced it approximately two weeks beforehand. It is the fifth update dedicated to product reviews of this year, and it’s part of Google’s plans for the future. This category of updates appeared after the company acknowledged the potential and importance of this kind of content.

Similar to every other product review update, this one has the same goal. What’s the purpose? Google wants to reward content dedicated to product reviews. This type of content can be beneficial to search users, and the company intends to promote it more than other types. The goal is to improve users’ satisfaction with the results provided by the search engine.
At the same time, Google incentives web admins and SEO experts to focus more on this type of content to compete for a better ranking. It will be easier for websites with this type of content to get better positions faster than other sites that still focus on different categories. For this reason, more and more professionals decided to adapt their strategies for this type of update.
Is that necessary? Based on all the data gathered, Google seems satisfied with the results. As a result, this type of update will continue to appear. As for web admins and SEO experts, they have no choice but to adapt.

The most straightforward answer is that websites incorporating product reviews on their pages got better ranks. These are promoted more than in the past. Regarding how much the rewards differ from site to site, the more content focused on reviews your site has, the more promotion you can expect from this update. What about your website? How much did you benefit from the changes? Did you check it?
What about penalties? From what we know, there was no negative impact during this update. We can only conclude that no punishment was allocated. This means you can still pay attention to the update. If you do not want to be outcompeted, you must take some measures. Otherwise, you can wait to lose your top ranks and marketing results.
