Google emphasizes the quality of the content posted on a website. It has been years since Google revealed its direction, and this content update is a big step toward Google’s vision for the future. Its purpose is to help the algorithm detect the quality and intent of a piece of content much better than it could do in the past.
The primary purpose of this update was to detect helpful content and reward it. In the future, it will be easier for the search engine to find the content created to help users and site visitors instead of that made for better ranks. What type of content do you have posted on your site?
Don’t you know what Google expects from your content? No problem! You can find the Google webmaster guidelines online. By following them, you won’t have difficulty distinguishing between people-focused content, and that focused on search engines.

The impact of this update was enormous. It affected websites from all industries. Some got much better ranks because their content was focused in the right direction. While the others lost positions because the content posted on their site was not people-oriented. Lastly, a few businesses didn’t get anything from this update but didn’t lose anything.
This update probably affected your site as well. It would help if you had an SEO audit to check the rank difference before and after this update. The question is, did your site rise in the ranks, or did it drop? What can you do in each situation?
If your ranks rise after this helpful content update, you already have an excellent method to create top-quality content, and you should continue making the same type of content in the future. Please consider increasing the quantity of the content you post on your site.
What can you do if your site is one of those that lost many ranks during this update? The situation is serious. You will have many losses until you redress the problem and regain your SERPs positions.
One of the best options you have is to find a reliable SEO agency like GAMIT that fully understands the requirements asked by Google. If you let them create a personalized strategy, optimize your site’s content in the right direction, and create new helpful content, you can recoup your losses in the shortest period possible.
You can also try to solve this problem by yourself. Be prepared to spend an extended period on the task. The more content is posted on your site, the more editing and rewriting you need. It’s not easy to change a piece of content to make it meet the requirements asked by Google.
