Google regularly updates its algorithms. Most of the time, these changes are minimal and not even confirmed. From time to time, the update is a major one with a vast impact on SERPs. These are generally named core updates. The September 2022 core update is the second one of this kind implemented this year.

Most core updates implemented by Google in recent years have a similar goal. These will not produce massive changes to the algorithms. However, they will adapt the factors based on the current market situation. The purpose of every core update in 2022 was to improve user satisfaction.
Most, if not all, of the updates have this purpose in mind. The only difference between them is the methods used to achieve that. Based on the data Google gathers, it can constantly update its algorithms to produce the best possible user results.
The problem is for webmasters because they have no details about the algorithms and these updates. They only have the information provided by Google plus the data gathered by experts. For this reason, SEO experts must foresee the direction of the updates to prepare for the changes.

The September 2022 core update changes affected a wide market area. These updates generally influence almost all industries. Luckily, the effects are vast and do not have long-term impacts. The only sites with serious problems caused by core updates use black or grey hat methods.
If you took proper care of your website’s SEO, you might have benefited from the changes made to the algorithms by every core update implemented in 2022. You might have seen massive changes if you checked your site’s situation during an update. It’s important to know that most of them are temporary, and your site will recover in a few days.
The only chaotic part of Google Search was the product reviews section because the product review update was implemented almost simultaneously with this core update. In most cases, the websites that focused on this kind of content won more than others from this combination.
Suppose you are satisfied with the results produced by your current SEO strategy, and the impact caused by the September core update is minimal. In that case, you should not make any significant changes. You can tweak your strategy to adapt it to the changing SEO needs of your site. Otherwise, you do not need to make any specific changes because of this update.
If your site was affected by a core update, and the ranks you had do not recover after a couple of weeks, you may need to reconsider your current strategy entirely. It is possible that Google detected something wrong with your current methods. Your best bet is to use the SEO services of a reliable company like GAMIT and let them prepare a custom SEO plan for you.
