Business owners invest quite a few resources in order to take their activity over the web and the sites they build for it have to live up to certain demands. The users are the ones that will make the most of the quality of the site they are building, but search engines will look into a few aspects in order to determine how well it should rank in their list.
The quality of the site you are building has to focus on the content it has to offer for its users and for search engines as well. Each search engine uses certain algorithms in order to determine the quality of the content you post so they can determine how useful you are for users. This is why you have to invest quite a bit of resource in content as well.
If you want to improve your rank, you have to build links to your site through various methods that are accepted by search engines. Press releases, articles, and relevant blog posts are the best options you can turn to. This happens because you associate every link you have over the web with quality content that will help the users in their queries.
The quality of the contact section of the site
But one of the most common mistakes people make is to overlook the quality of the contact section of the site. Most site owners think that an address and phone number are enough for the people who want to get in touch with them, but there are other details that will help. They depend on the type of business you are running and the public you address.
If you are running a company with nationwide activities, you should post your national numbers properly, with all the prefixes. If you have more than one number people can use to get in touch with you, the first thing you have to do is post the department they will contact and thus you will avoid any unnecessary calls to your employees.
The coverage of the phone numbers has to play an important role as well. You can specify if it can be used by clients from all over the world or if it is going to serve just a few specific countries. One of the other important aspects is that users have to know is if it is toll-free or if they will have to pay in order to get in touch with you.
A local business should also include the working hours on their contact page. This will provide all the right details for the users who want to get in touch with you, but there are a few things you need to keep in mind when you want to build that page. In addition, you can use various free tools such as the Places for Business from Google.
There are a number of aspects that will influence how useful your site will be in your relationship with the user and search engines and you can find out more about this if you will visit Google Webmaster Central for it.
